Bidroom offers granular control over your notification preferences so you receive the alerts that matter most to you without being overwhelmed by unnecessary notifications. Properly configured notifications ensure you never miss critical project updates while reducing distractions during focused work time.
Notification Channels
| Channel | Best For | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Push Notifications | Urgent updates requiring immediate attention | Enabled for critical events |

| In-App | All activity — serves as a complete activity log | Always enabled |
Notification Categories
- Bid Activity — New bids received, bid status changes, bid invitations. Critical for property owners reviewing proposals and contractors tracking their submissions.
- Project Updates — Milestone status changes, progress reports, timeline updates. Keep all project stakeholders informed about construction progress.
- Messages — New messages from team members, contractors, or property owners. Enable push notifications for quick response to time-sensitive communications.
- Payments — Escrow deposits, milestone payment releases, payout confirmations. Always recommended to keep enabled for financial visibility.
- System Alerts — Account security notifications, platform updates, maintenance windows. Cannot be fully disabled for security reasons.
- Marketing — New features, tips, promotions, and community updates. Can be fully disabled if preferred.
Configuring Your Preferences
- Open the Bidroom app and navigate to Settings from the profile menu.
- Tap "Notification Preferences" to view all notification categories.
- For each category, toggle individual channels (push, email, SMS) on or off.
- Set quiet hours during which non-critical push notifications will be silenced.
- Configure digest mode to receive a daily or weekly summary email instead of individual notifications.
Recommended Configurations
For Property Owners: Enable push and email for bid activity, project updates, and payments. Enable push only for messages to stay responsive. Disable marketing notifications if preferred.
For Contractors: Enable push for new job matches, bid status updates, and messages. Enable email for payments and project updates. Consider enabling SMS for payment notifications so you never miss a payout confirmation.
For Project Managers: Enable all channels for project updates and messages. Configure digest mode for bid activity to receive a daily summary rather than individual notifications for each bid.
Quiet Hours
Set quiet hours (for example, 9 PM to 7 AM) to silence non-critical push notifications during personal time. Critical notifications like payment failures and security alerts will still come through during quiet hours. Quiet hours only affect push notifications — emails and in-app notifications continue to accumulate silently for review when you are ready.
