How Users Opt In to SMS Text Messages
Users can opt in to receive SMS text messages from Bidroom through the following methods:
- This Web Form: By entering your mobile phone number on this page, checking the SMS text message consent checkbox, and submitting the form.
- During App Registration: By providing your mobile phone number and checking the "I agree to receive SMS text messages from Bidroom" checkbox during account sign-up in the Bidroom mobile app or web platform.
- In Account Settings: By enabling the "SMS Text Notifications" toggle in the Notification Preferences section of your Bidroom account.
In all cases, users must take an explicit affirmative action (checking a checkbox or enabling a toggle) to opt in to receiving text messages. SMS consent is never pre-checked, pre-selected, or assumed. We maintain a complete timestamped record of each user's SMS consent for compliance purposes.
1. Consent to Receive SMS Text Messages
By submitting the opt-in form above, completing registration with SMS consent in the Bidroom app, or enabling SMS text notifications in your account settings, you expressly consent to receive recurring automated SMS text messages from Bidroom LLC at the mobile phone number you provided.
Your consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase or use of our services. You may use Bidroom without opting in to SMS text message communications.
2. Types of Text Messages
If you opt in, you may receive the following types of SMS text messages:
Account & Service Text Messages
- Bid received and bid status update notifications
- Payment confirmation and escrow milestone alerts
- Project status changes and deadline reminders
- New feature and service announcements relevant to your account
- Contractor matching and job recommendation alerts
Transactional Text Messages (sent regardless of opt-in status)
- Account verification and two-factor authentication codes
- Password reset confirmations
- Security alerts (unusual login activity, account changes)
Transactional text messages related to account security and verification are sent to all users with a verified phone number on file, independent of SMS opt-in consent.
3. Text Message Frequency
SMS text message frequency varies based on your account activity. You can expect to receive approximately 2 to 10 text messages per month, depending on your role (property owner, contractor, or project manager) and project activity level.
Transactional text messages (security codes, password resets) are sent as needed based on your account activity and are not counted toward the message frequency estimate above.
4. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Standard text messaging rates from your wireless carrier apply to all SMS messages sent and received. Bidroom does not charge separately for text messages.
SMS text message services are available on all major U.S. carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Sprint. Service availability may vary by carrier and geographic region. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered text messages.
5. How to Opt Out of Text Messages
Reply STOP to any text message from Bidroom to immediately unsubscribe from all non-transactional SMS text messages.
Reply HELP for assistance or contact support@bidroom.io.
You can also opt out of text messages at any time by:
- Going to Account → Notification Preferences → SMS Text Notifications in the Bidroom app and turning off the SMS toggle.
- Contacting us at support@bidroom.io and requesting removal from SMS text messages.
After opting out, you will receive a single confirmation text message acknowledging your opt-out. You will continue to receive transactional text messages related to account security (verification codes, password resets).
6. Data & Privacy
Your mobile phone number and SMS consent preferences are stored securely. We do not sell, share, or rent your phone number to third parties for their marketing or messaging purposes.
We use your phone number solely for:
- Sending the SMS text messages described in this policy
- Account security and identity verification
- Facilitating project-related communication between platform users (e.g., property owners and contractors)

7. SMS Consent Records
Bidroom maintains a comprehensive SMS consent audit log that records:
- The date and time you opted in or opted out of SMS text messages
- The method of SMS consent (this web form, app registration, or account settings)
- The specific communication channel affected (SMS text messages)
- Your IP address and device information at the time of SMS consent
These records are retained for compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and CTIA Short Code Monitoring guidelines.
