Job Description
This sub-job covers the initial critical phases of preparing the lightweight concrete substrate. It involves a thorough assessment of existing conditions, meticulous repair of all imperfections, and the application of a high-quality self-leveling underlayment to achieve a perfectly flat and smooth base for subsequent polishing.
Scope of Work
INCLUDED: On-site comprehensive assessment of 3600 sq ft lightweight concrete for cracks, spalling, surface irregularities, and existing repairs. Thorough cleaning and preparation of surfaces. Expert patching using high-strength, compatible repair materials specifically designed for lightweight concrete. Initial grinding or scarification as necessary to prepare for optimal self-leveling underlayment (SLU) adhesion. Application of appropriate primers. Application of high-quality, commercial-grade, low-VOC self-leveling underlayment (SLU) or skim coat layers across the entire 3600 sq ft to achieve stringent flatness tolerances (e.g., FF50/FL30). Light grinding/sanding of cured SLU if required for perfect polish preparation. Strict dust containment measures during all preparation and application activities. Material procurement (compatible with lightweight concrete, low-VOC). EXCLUDED: Finish grinding, densifying, polishing, sealing. Treatment of control/expansion joints. Specialized cleaning beyond basic dust and debris removal from this phase. Structural repairs extending beyond surface imperfections.
