Construction is the world's second-largest industry — and the most broken.

Homeowners can't get honest pricing. Property managers waste weeks chasing bids. Licensed contractors burn cash on lead-gen sites that resell the same lead five times. Payments are delayed. Scope creeps. Trust evaporates.

We started Bidroom because none of this is necessary.

The problem we kept seeing

Before Bidroom, our team spent years inside construction — owning projects, managing trades, running platforms. Three patterns showed up everywhere we looked:

• Lead-gen extortion. Contractors pay $50–$200 per "lead" that gets sold to four other competitors. Nobody wins.
• Scope ambiguity. A one-line job description ("repaint kitchen") becomes the source of an $11,000 dispute six weeks later.
• Payment friction. Honest contractors wait 60–90 days for invoices to clear while their material suppliers want NET-15.

None of these are construction problems. They are coordination problems. And coordination problems are exactly what software solves.

What we built instead

For owners, that means three or more competing bids on every job, AI-generated scopes of work that prevent costly miscommunication, and a payment system where funds only release when work is approved.

For contractors, it means real projects from real customers — not recycled leads. Free profile. Free bidding. AI-written proposals. Verified payment.

Four design principles we never compromise on

1. Verified, not just listed

Every contractor on Bidroom is checked against state license boards in all 50 states. Insurance and bond status are verified. We do not list ghost profiles.

2. Payment-protected from day one

Every dollar runs through Stripe escrow. Funds release on milestone approval. Lien waivers, change orders, and final closeouts are signed in-app — never on paper napkins.

3. AI-native, not AI-bolted-on

Cost estimation, risk prediction, scope generation, and bid analysis are built into every workflow. Not a chatbot in the corner.

4. Built for the field

Native iOS and Android apps. Offline-capable. Designed for the truck and the jobsite — not the desk.

What's next

We are starting with residential and light commercial across the United States, with a national contractor network already 1.6 million strong. Government contracting (SAM.gov), commercial property management, and international expansion are on the roadmap.
